STURGIS - The Sturgis Golden K Kiwanis Club held their annual Hobo Stew Feed on Sunday, Oct. 29 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Sturgis Community Center.

Those who attended enjoyed Hobo Stew, french bread, bars and fellowship with friends and family.

Organizers said they served about 300 people and raised more than $2,300 at the event.

"This was the largest crowd we have had since I’ve been on the Hobo Stew committee," said Kiwanis member Gordon Kotab. "I’m sure the secret recipe that has been handed down from generations of hobos has something to do with it."

Funds raised at the annual Hobo Stew Fundraiser support youth projects in the community. The needs of young children are Priority No. 1 at Kiwanis, Kotab said.
