The annual meeting of the Meade School Board will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 8, in the board room of Williams Administrative Building, 1230 Douglas Street, Sturgis.
Agenda items up for action by the old board include the budget and tax request for 2013-14, and bus route change requests.
Presentations to outgoing board members Wanda Blair and Nancy Richter will take place, and oaths of office will be administered to new board members Curt Nupen and Bryce Richter and re-elected board member Bob Burns.
Once the old board adjourns and the new board is seated, the first order of business will be the election of officers and a variety of organizational items that, pursuant to state law, need to be handled at the annual meeting.
The new board will also set the rates and fees for the coming year, select a representative to the Black Hills Special Services Cooperative Board of Directors, act on personnel items and procurement cards, and authorize the publication of salaries.
Discussion items include policies regarding athletics and activities, the SBHS student handbook, property adjacent to Stagebarn School, remodel of the second floor of the Williams Administrative Building, school resource officer, space at Sturgis Elementary and Piedmont Valley Elementary, Associated School Boards of South Dakota convention and the ACAM assessment.
