Partners in Policymaking is a leadership-training program for self-advocates and parents of children with disabilities. The training provides state-of-the-art knowledge about disability issues and builds the competencies necessary to become advocates who can effectively influence system change. The empowerment you receive will "change your life."
South Dakota Advocacy Services and Partners in Policymaking is currently seeking applications from interested people who have disabilities or who are parents of children with disabilities. Partners in Policymaking has over 500 graduates in South Dakota and over 8,000 nationwide. Year Twenty-two training sessions will be held as follows: November 15-16, 2013; December 13-14, 2013; January 23-25, 2014; February 21-22, 2014; March 21-22, 2014; and April 25-26, 2014. The November through March sessions will be held in Pierre and the April training in Sioux Falls.
Partners in Policymaking is funded in part by grants from the SD Governor's Planning Council on Developmental Disabilities, Children's Care Hospital and School and SD University Affiliated Programs.
