SPEARFISH | Spearfish Regional Hospital’s (SPRH) diabetes educators will present a four-week diabetes self-management class starting Thursday, Feb. 7.
Classes are from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at SPRH in the lower level, FMC Conference Room, 1440 North Main St., Spearfish. This is a service covered by Medicare Part B and most insurance companies.
Classes are offered monthly and take place on four consecutive Thursdays. Participants need to have an order from their provider and an individual meeting with a diabetes educator before the class series begins.
The classes use the interactive Conversation Maps™, a method addressing the topics the participants consider most relevant to their own life. Some topics covered include healthy meal planning, the relationship between diabetes and food, using monitoring results to manage diabetes, and ways to reduce other health risks related to diabetes.
