A Rapid City man who pleaded guilty to enticing foreign children on the internet was sentenced Monday to 20 years in federal prison.
Shane Davison, 48, admitted paying for nude photos of Philippine girls and to view them engaging in sexual activity online, according to court documents. Investigators said the offenses, which occurred in 2015, were discovered when a money-transfer service informed Yahoo that a number of Yahoo accounts were trading in child exploitation material.
Chief Judge Jeffrey Viken, of the U.S. District Court of South Dakota, also sentenced Davison to 15 years of supervised release following his prison term. Davison’s two other charges, sexual exploitation of a minor and receipt of child pornography, were dismissed under the terms of his plea agreement with prosecutors.
