Witnesses told investigators that King was doing doughnuts along Deadwood Avenue around 9 p.m., just before his Chevrolet Tahoe rolled into a ditch near the eastbound onramp to Interstate 90. Police who spoke to King said he smelled of alcohol, and a field test found that he was too intoxicated to drive.
