A woman who was allegedly carrying a handsaw and sledgehammer was arrested Thursday for disorderly conduct and possession of a controlled substance, according to the Rapid City Police Department.
Police said they were dispatched at 8:40 a.m. to 1601 Haines Ave. for a report of a woman behaving erratically with a sledgehammer and knife.
The police reported finding 39-year-old Jodene Roach, of Rapid City, in the area of Curtis Street and Haines Avenue with a handsaw in one hand and a sledgehammer in the other. She was ordered to drop both weapons and did so, police said, but did not comply with officer commands to get on the ground.
Officers restrained Roach and placed her in handcuffs, and a search of her person turned up a small bag containing a white crystal substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine, police said.
