An inmate found dead along a highway earlier this month was shot in the head by another person, according to his death certificate, the Argus Leader reported.
Moses Charles Dubray, 32, serving a five-year sentence on a third-degree burglary out of Bennett County, walked away from his work-release assignment unit at the Rapid City community work center Jan. 10.
His death certificate states he died from a brain injury the next day as a result of being shot in the head. He was found a quarter-mile from S.D. Highway 89 on Wild Sage Road in Edgemont.
The Department of Criminal Investigation is asking for any information about Dubray's whereabouts Jan. 10. Any information can be reported at 394-1884. The Fall River County Sheriff's Office is also involved in the investigation.
