PIERRE - A bill to give more of Deadwood gambling revenue to the State Historic Preservation Loan Fund was revived Monday in the House.

HB1166, sponsored by Rep. Mary Glenski, D-Sioux Falls. Would raise from $100,000 to $250,000 the amount of money for historic preservation other South Dakota communities receive from Deadwood gaming.

Revenues to Deadwood would decrease slightly.

The House State Affairs Committee rejected the bill on Jan. 25, but yesterday it was "smoked out" on the House floor - a legislative maneuver that forced the committee to reconsider the bill.

The state affairs committee met briefly after Monday's floor vote to send the bill back to the House with a "do not pass" resolution.

If supporters can get enough votes today to strike the "do not pass," the bill gets another vote Wednesday.
