A Lead man has been sentenced to five years and 11 months in prison for distributing meth near Deadwood in 2016.

Timothy Conwell, 37, was convicted of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and sentenced in Rapid City on Feb. 23 by U.S. District Court Chief Judge Jeffrey Viken.

Investigators, from the state Division of Criminal Investigation, said Conwell conspired with another man to distribute more than 50 grams of meth near Deadwood. He was sentenced also to five years of supervised release.
