A Martin father and son pleaded guilty Wednesday to killing a 33-year-old man in 2016.
Daniel Ceplecha, 57, and Rangler Ceplecha, 23, each pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter for fatally shooting Moses Red Bear, according to a release from the state Attorney General’s Office. The pair faces up to life in prison at their sentencing in Bennett County on June 6.
The shooting stemmed from an incident at Daniel Ceplecha’s residence, the release stated without providing details.
Firefighters discovered Red Bear’s body while extinguishing a roadside grass fire in western Bennett County on Nov. 12, 2016, the Bennett County Booster had reported. Earlier that day, the Martin Police Department received reports of a killing at a local home. Officers didn’t find a body at the scene and concluded it had been moved.
