ISABEL - Irma Cross, 90, Isabel, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006, at Beverly Healthcare Center in Mobridge.

Arrangements are pending with Oster Funeral Home of Mobridge.

Howard H. Goehring

DEADWOOD - Howard H. Goehring, 87, Deadwood, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006, at Lead-Deadwood Regional Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Goehring, Deadwood, and his children.

Arrangements are pending with Aldinger Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Spearfish.

Helen Alice Norris Edlund

SPEARFISH - Helen Alice Norris Edlund, 86, Spearfish, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006, at David M. Dorsett Regional Senior Care in Spearfish.

Survivors include one daughter, Karen Laumer, Spearfish; five grandchildren; eight great-grandsons; one brother, Ray Norris, Dayton, Ore.; and two sisters, Dorothy Pranger, Spearfish, and Thelma Hepper, Gettysburg.

Her husband, Clarence, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, with the family present from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis, and for one hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Spearfish, with the Rev. Kent Stillson officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery south of Newell.

A memorial has been established.

Ruth M. Hallinger

SPEARFISH - Ruth M. Hallinger, 90, Spearfish, died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2006, at Spearfish Regional Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, Roland Hallinger, Spearfish; one son, Mark Hallinger, Liberal, Kan.; one daughter, Gay Ann Boardman, Spearfish; one sister, Esther Nobel, Denver; and two grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. today, Sept. 1, at United Methodist Church in Spearfish, with the Rev. Kip Roozen officiating. Inurnment will be at Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche.

A memorial has been established to the Arthritis Foundation.

Luvern Charles Peck

PIERRE - Luvern Charles Peck, 88, Pierre, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, at his home near Pierre.

Survivors include two sons, David Peck, Pierre, and Devern Peck, Fort Pierre; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Laurel Peck and Clifford Peck; and one sister, Agnes.

His wife, Babe, preceded him in death

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. CDT Saturday, Sept. 2, at Community and Youth Involved Center in Fort Pierre.

Edward Summers

MOBRIDGE - Edward Summers, 82, Mobridge, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, at Beverly Health Care Center in Mobridge.

Jennifer L. 'Jenny' Jones

ROCHESTER, Minn. - Jennifer L. "Jenny" Jones, 24, Rochester, died Monday, Aug. 28, 2006, at her home.

Survivors include two sons, Nathanyal Jones and Izayah Jones; her parents, Bob and Char Jones; three brothers, Tim Courtright, Shane Jones and Bobby Jones; two sisters, Alisha Newman and Patti Jones; and her boyfriend, Billy Wagner.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, at First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis, S.D., with the Rev. Jane Ireland officiating. Burial will be at Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.

Kinkade Funeral Chapel of Sturgis is in charge of arrangements.

Helen L. Williams

SPEARFISH - Helen L. Williams, 95, Spearfish, died Monday, Aug. 28, 2006, at Spearfish Regional Hospital.

Survivors include one son, Albert "Sonny" Williams, Snohomish, Wash.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Albert, preceded her in death.

Family graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, at the Masonic Cemetery in West Lead, with the Rev. Tom Campbell officiating. Friends are welcome.

BELLE FOURCHE - Bernice Kulm, 72, Belle Fourche, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, Franklin Kulm, Belle Fourche; one daughter, Denise Anderson, Belle Fourche; one sister, Irene Rissmann, Ipswich; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one stepbrother, Eddy Brandner, Washington.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4, at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche and one hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at Christian Life Center in Belle Fourche, with the Rev. Paul Howard officiating. Burial will be at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

Ernest Duane Holmgrain

BELLE FOURCHE - Ernest Duane Holmgrain, 71, Belle Fourche, died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006, at Belle View Assisted Living in Belle Fourche.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include three brothers, Everett Holmgrain, Rapid City, Milton Holmgrain, Warsaw, Ind., and Floyd Holmgrain, Mitchellville, Md., and one sister, Phyllis Simpson, Alliance, Neb.

It was his wish to be cremated and his urn to be buried at Greenwood Cemetery in Chadron, Neb.

Kline Funeral Chapel in Belle Fourche is in charge of arrangements.

Colton James LaCroix

RAPID CITY - Colton James LaCroix, infant son of Beau and Christy LaCroix of Rapid City, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006, at his home.

Survivors include his parents; one brother, Gaige Smith, Rapid City; his grandparents, Robert and Jill Peterson and K.C. and Pam Smith, all of Rapid City; and his great-grandparents, Jim and Maxine Cook, Watertown, and Helen Boyd, Kadoka.

Arrangements are pending with Kirk Funeral Home of Rapid City.

Norma Rose Rounds

CHEYENNE, Wyo. - Norma Rose Rounds, 81, Cheyenne and formerly of Spearfish, S.D., and Sundance, died July 10, 2006, at United Medical Center West in Cheyenne.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna Petsch and Joan Rounds, both of Meriden; one son, Tim Rounds, Scottsbluff, Neb.; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Don Rounds, preceded her in death.

Graveside memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Spearfish, with the Rev. Bunker Hill officiating.

PINE RIDGE - Christine Red Cloud, 74, Pine Ridge, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, in Pine Ridge.

Yula Olive Coyle

BELLE FOURCHE - Yula Olive Coyle, 85, Belle Fourche, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, at Judy's Assisted Living Center in Belle Fourche.

Survivors include two sons, John Coyle, Sturgis, and Kenny Coyle, Belle Fourche; one granddaughter; two great-grandsons; and one brother, Kenneth Umenthum, Belle Fourche.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4, at Kline Funeral Chapel in Belle Fourche and for one hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at St. James Lutheran Church in Belle Fourche, with the Rev. Jeff M. Otterman officiating. Burial will be at Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche.

The family suggests memorial contributions to St. James Lutheran Church.

Jim Jonas

LEMMON - Jim Jonas, 74, Lemmon, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006, at West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger, N.D.

Survivors include his wife, Cherylene Jonas, Lemmon; one son, Jim Jonas, Gillette, Wyo.; two daughters, LaShawn Foulkes, Gillette, and LaStella Hanson, Gordon, Neb.; nine grandchildren, one brother, Leonard Jonas, Lemmon; and three sisters, Angeline Gieser, Mandan, N.D., Mary Goeres, Dickinson, N.D., and Julia Wysk, Lemmon.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 2 and 3, at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon and one hour before services Monday at the church. A wake service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 4, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lemmon, with the Rev. Brian Fawcett and Deacon Gene Morman officiating. Burial with full military honors by Brattvet-Green American Legion Post of Lemmon will be at Greenhill Cemetery in Lemmon.

Katherine B. Nichols

BOX ELDER - Katherine B. Nichols, 90, of Box Elder died Wednesday, August 30, 2006, at Rapid City Regional Hospital surrounded by family.

Katherine was born on August 3, 1916, in Whitehorse, SD, to Whitley and Felicia Traversie. She married Wallace G. Nichols, Sr. on October 15, 1936, at Gettysburg, SD. They moved to Rapid City in 1944. Katherine worked for Civil Service for 20 years at Sioux San Hospital as a lab and X-Ray technician. She retired in 1973.

Grateful for having shared in her life includes her sister Isabelle Montreal of Rapid City, her three grand-children Kathy Silversmith and her husband Cecil of Box Elder, SD, Bret Peterson and his wife Sandra of Rapid City, Scott Peterson and his wife Michele of Rapid City; 3 great-grandchildren, Colin Peterson of Box Elder, Dustin Peterson and Cody Peterson, both of Rapid City, and countless relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wallace Nichols, one son, Nick Nichols, one daughter, Janet Hunt, 3 sisters, Cybil Dolphus, Sylvia Bercier, Rasalee Pappan, one brother, Clark Traversie, and one grandson, Rocky Peterson.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 1, 2006, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City and also one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2006, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Brent Woodard officiating. Interment will be in Pine Lawn Memorial Park in Rapid City.

Katherine will be missed by all whom she touched with her love, strength, kindness, faith, thoughtfulness, and unselfishness. We love you Granny-Moto, may you rest in peace.

Zwickl Jr., George

SPEARFISH - George Zwickl Jr., 83, Spearfish, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, at David M. Dorsett Regional Senior Care in Spearfish.

Survivors include his wife, Violet Zwickl, Spearfish; four children, Keith Zwickl, Tucson, Ariz., Saundra Dobronics and Larry Zwickl, both of Chicago, and Debbie Skvorak, Smithsburg, Md.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are pending with Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel of Spearfish.
