RENO, Nev. - Thelma Anderson, 88, Reno, and formerly of Midland, S.D., died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at Manor Care in Reno.
Survivors include two daughters, Faye Anderson, Riverton, Utah, and Deanna Peters, Reno; two grandchildren; one brother, Albert "Fuzz" Martin, Faith, S.D.; and one sister, Mickey Wiotte, Midland. S.D.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Curt Anderson. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at Rush Funeral Home in Philip, S.D., and one hour before services at the church on Saturday.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Midland, with the Rev. Frezil Westerlund officiating.
Burial will be at the Midland Cemetery.

MINOCQUA, Wis. - Elaine (Amsbaugh) Bassett, 61, Minocqua, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
Survivors include her husband, Sam Bassett, Minocqua; her daughter, Kristin Bassett, Rockford, Ill.; her mother, Betty Amsbaugh, Rapid City, S.D.; two brothers, Jim Amsbaugh of Virginia and Dale Amsbaugh, Rapid City; and one sister, Bev Raymond, Barbaboo.

PIEDMONT - Richard Levi Eaton, 26, Piedmont, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at Clarkson Mountain View Health Care facility in Rapid City.
Survivors include his parents, Levi and Laurie Eaton, Piedmont; and two sisters, Kathy Albers, Spearfish, and Stephanie Deuter, Dell Rapids.
Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis, with family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Piedmont, with the Rev. Mike Bang officiating. Burial follows at the Piedmont Cemetery.

Jason J. Fenhaus
MILESVILLE - Jason J. Fenhaus, 37, Milesville, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, near Milesville.
Jason was born August 6, 1971, in Rapid City, to Carlos and Charlotte Fenhaus. He attended Rapid Valley Elementary, North Junior High and Rapid City Central, graduating in 1990.
Jason developed an interest in rodeo while in high school. He won the State High School Bareback Championship titles in 1989 and 1990. Following high school, Jason continued to compete nationally for several years, turning pro in 1994.
After rodeo, Jason went into the building construction trades, excelling in carpentry, tile setting, concrete, painting and finish work. He was most recently employed at Norsvin Farms.
Jason's hobbies and interests included sketching, sculpturing, wood carving and leather work. He was an avid rock and fossil collector. Jason's love for horses never ceased. Jason, Kirsten and the children spend their free time riding in the country. He also enjoyed riding his Harley.
Jason was unied in marriage to Nichole Jansen in 1993. To this union two daughters were born: Kaeley in 1993 and Abby in 1997. Jason met his life partner, Kirsten Stillwell and daughter Alyssa in 1999. A son, Jade, was born in 2001.
Survivors include his children, Kaeley, Abby, Alyssa and Jade; his fiancée, Kirsten Stillwell, Milesville; his parents, Carlos and Charlotte (Olson) Fenhaus, Hermosa; four brothers, Harold (Gwen) Fenhaus, Carlos (Cindy) Fenhaus Jr. and Mark Fenhaus, all of Rapid City, and Matthew (Lacie Cain) Fenhaus, Indiahoma, Okla.; three sisters, Angela (Kevin) Morgan, Spearfish, Christie (Stan Anders) Oster, Union Center, and Charlotte Murphy, Rapid City. Additional survivors include his extended family and numerous friends.
Jason was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his nephew, Richard Fenhaus.
Jason will always be remembered for his quick smile, sense of humor and cowboy spirit.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Rapid City, with the Rev. Ron Garry officiating. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Rapid City.

HETTINGER, N.D. - Gertrude Huiner, 84, Hettinger, and formerly of Lodgepole, S.D., died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, at the Western Horizons Care Center in Hettinger.
Survivors include two sons, Duane Huiner and Darwin Huiner, both of Hettinger; one daughter, Phyllis Andress, Lodgepole; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her her husband, Henry.

Donald E. Larson
RAPID CITY - Donald E. Larson, 78, Rapid City, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Donald was born Jan. 7, 1930, at his grandparents' rural Gregory County home. He was the only son of Perry and May (Jernberg) Larson. His childhood home was a Gregory County farmstead. During WW II, Donald and his parents lived at Igloo, where his father worked for the railroad at the munitions depot. Donald attended grammar school at a rural country school in Gregory County. He attended freshman year in high school at Provo and graduated from Gregory High School in 1948.
On June 5, 1949, Donald married the love of his life, Lillian Joyce (Larsh). The young couple farmed with Donald's parents southwest of Gregory until moving their family to Rapid City in 1961. Don began his work as a refrigeration service technician at Green's Refrigeration in Rapid City. He continued his refrigeration service work for Black Hills Power & Light, retiring in 1992 after 30 years in their employ.
Donald took great pride in caring for his family. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. He and Joyce celebrated 57 years of marriage and raised four children.
Donald enjoyed visiting with relatives and friends and he loved to tell stories about his life experiences. In his later years, the servers at the local restaurants became important to both Don and Joyce as they enjoyed their visits when out for lunch.
Donald was a history buff, particularly interested in the history of the American West and the Native American tribes of the Great Plains.
Grateful to have shared his life are three daughters, Carol (Keith) Umenthum, Deadwood, Sandy (Roger) Jensen, Lexington, NE, and Pam (Dave) Kunzweiler, Rapid City; eight grandchildren, Neile (Kelly) Hoops, Sturgis, Laura (Reese) Clarkson, Buffalo, Amy (Corey) Anderson, Omaha, NE, Ryan Jensen, Omaha, NE, Eric Larson, Spearfish, Greg (Tarra and her son, Tyler) Larson, Rapid City, and Hannah and Rachel Kunzweiler, Rapid City; four great-grandchildren, Shelby and Odessa Clarkson, Buffalo, and Gwendolyn and Owen Hoops, Sturgis; three sisters-in-law, Hazel Peterson, Pierre, Marvel Pugh, Rapid City, and Barb(Meade) Himrich, Rapid City; one brother-in-law, John "Casey" Larsh Jr., Rapid City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bradley J. "Brad" Larson in 1993; and his wife, Joyce in 2006.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, at the Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Douglas E. Diehl officiating.
Interment will be at the Mountain View Cemetery.

GORDONSVILLE, Va. - Evonne June Plaggemeyer, 58, Gordonsville, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008, at her home.
Survivors include her husband, David Hobbs, Gordonsville; one daughter, Tami Plaggemeyer, Rapid City, S.D.; one son, Jason Plaggemeyer, Trout Dale, Ore.; one brother, Todd Hehr, Dale City; and one sister, Nancy Potter, Gillette, Wyo.

He served in the U.S. Air Force.

Burial, with military honors by the Sturgis Veterans Honor Guard, will follow at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
