Runnings Farm and Fleet announced Friday that it has reached an agreement to purchase Motive Parts and Supply stores in Rapid City and Belle Fourche.

The Motive Parts and Supply store in Rapid City will be closed, according to a press release. The nine employees at that store are being encouraged to apply at the Runnings store at 1020 N. Lacrosse St., according to a news release.

The store in Belle Fourche will be converted into a Runnings and jobs will be offered to the seven employees now at Motive.

Will miss the Motive Parts by Rapid. Shoot, it's been there for 60+ years. Jury's out on Runnings. Bad location. I'll go to TSC.

Motive Parts is actually in Box Elder not Rapid City and this means the "great" low tax City Of Box Elder will have one less store and one less tax source for its already "great city services"..haha NOT. ..poor road department, poor police department and a fire department that is a Vol department for a city of about 7,000 people...what a joke of a town..and thanks Runnings, you just helped us residents out Box hEllder...

Perhaps the inventory will be better maintained in the Belle Fourche store. Slightly higher prices would be more than offset by actually having the products needed, when needed, instead of the empty shelves, bins, or the every so often, "No we don't stock that, but we can order it for you," which means much lost time and mileage searching for what one needs
There are a number of the Belle Fourche employees that will not be missed by this past customer. I hope the ones who stay are trained by Runnings in customer service.
