ELK POINT - The Elk Point fire chief is under investigation for allegedly having child pornography on a laptop computer.
Details in a search warrant request indicate that Douglas A. Kavanaugh of Burbank reported the computer stolen in June from his home in Burbank.
He later said he'd found it damaged on his yard.
Authorities said they discovered porn on the computer after retrieving it from the Elk Point fire station to look into Kavanaugh's report that it had earlier been stolen.
Kavanaugh has not been charged, but the investigation continues.
