Hawaii rallies to down Canyon Lake

Hawaii rallied from a 3-1 deficit to down Canyon Lake, 6-4, at the Little League World Series on Monday. The loss ended Canyon Lake's season as the team went 0-3 at the LLWS.

Canyon Lake's big inning was the fourth when Cale Fierro and Jesse Riddle both singled before Mark Petereit walked to load the bases. Fierro scored on a passed ball and Riddle came home on an error. The South Dakota champions would tack on one more run to go up 3-1.

Hawaii rallied to take a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the fourth before Fierro tied the game with a solo home run in the fifth.

The winning runs came on a two-run home run by Hawaii in the bottom of the fifth.

Canyon Lake was the first South Dakota team to make it to the Little League World Series.

Canyon Lake goes down in order in the top of the first inning. Hawaii pitcer Christian Donahue stuck out two.

Tanner Simons set down Hawaii in the first inning allowing just one hit. The first batter of the game popped out to Simons on the mound on the first pitch.

Hawaii scored on a double from Kainoa Fong after Simons walked two before the big blast scored one. Simons did strand the bases loaded.

Tanner Simons drew a two-out walk but was left on the basepaths as Canyon Lake is still looking for its first hit of the game.

Cale Fierro collects Canyon Lake's first hit of the game with a lined shot up the middle. Jesse Riddle followed with a single. Fierro advanced to third on the hit and scored his team's first run on a passed ball. The pitcher tried to throw the runner out at third, but the ball sailed into left allowing Riddle to score.

Canyon Lake took a 2-0 lead.

Canyon Lake would load the bases and push one more run across when Tanner Simons was hit by a pitch to make th score 3-1.

Hawaii struck back with three runs using a single, a walk and an error to load the bases before Khade Paris hit a two-run double to tie the score. Paris would score one batter later on a ball rifled to the outfield.

Cale Fierro led off the inning with a solo home run to left center field to tie the score at 4-4.
