Man, 67, dies in house fire in Rapid City

A 67-year-old man died in a house fire Sunday morning, according to the Rapid City Fire Department.

Firefighters arrived to a one-level single family house located at 601 Madison at about 11:20 a.m. The man, who has not been identified, was found in the front door of the living area and was removed from the house by firefighters.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Battalion Chief Rob Powell. No other victims were found at the scene.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is still being investigated.
