Rapid City police say they still have no leads on the disappearance of a local psychiatrist missing since Sunday.

Harry Hamlyn was last seen Sunday near his home near Canyon Lake on the west side of Rapid City. Hamlyn's wife called authorities Monday when he did not turn up at work or come home.

"We're pretty stumped," police Sgt. Dale McCabe said Wednesday.

Law enforcement officials have searched the area near his home on foot and with dogs to track a scent, but have not found any clues.

Hamlyn's cell phone and pager are missing, and his cell phone has been turned off since Sunday, McCabe said. The car he drives is still at the home.

A blue and black mountain bike is missing from the home. However, McCabe said Hamlyn was not an avid bike rider, and he did not tell his wife he was going for a ride.

McCabe said the doctor is well liked in the community and led a private life.

"He was at home a lot, and he worked a lot," McCabe said. "It's not like he had a favorite place we could go check."

McCabe said they have received a few leads, but nothing substantial.

"There's nothing that has triggered us to go look somewhere," he said.

Rapid City Regional Health officials confirmed that Hamlyn is a doctor with the system, but referred questions to the police department. On Regional's Web site, Hamlyn is listed as a psychiatrist at the Regional Health Behavioral Health Center on Mountain View Road in Rapid City.

Hamlyn is 51, stands 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighs 170 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. He could be wearing glasses, McCabe said, because he can't see very well without them.
