The blizzard that ripped through the Black Hills brought a pile of powder to area ski slopes.
Managing partner Mark Brockman said the Mystic Miner at Deer Mountain ski area gained more than 3 feet of snow.
It's "probably more in some spots," he said. "We've got the groomer out there right now packing it down, so come this weekend, the snow is in prime condition for our skiers."
The Terry Peak Ski Area's Web site reported between 4 and 5 feet of new snow in the past 24 hours. However, the blizzard conditions that also closed most area roads also shut down the slopes near Lead on Tuesday.
The ski resort promised to post online updates for anxious skiers and snowboarders regarding a reopening today.
Mystic Miner is scheduled to open as usual on Friday.
Brockman said the extra snow would not extend Mystic Miners' season, which is set to close April 11.
It's going to enhance the season, not necessarily extend it," he said.
