Federal prosecutors from across the country will meet in Rapid City next week to discuss law enforcement and public safety issues, health care, legislative updates, drug abuse, financial accountability, domestic violence and Bureau of Indian Affairs Special Law Enforcement Commissions.

The joint U.S. Attorney Native American Issues Subcommittee and Tribal Liaison meeting runs from June 3-5 at Rushmore Plaza Holiday Inn.

According to a joint news release from South Dakota's U.S. Attorney Marty Jackley and North Carolina's Western District U.S. Attorney Gretchen Shappert, the Attorney General's Committee consists of about 27 U.S. Attorneys and Tribal Liaisons consist of about 48 Assistant U.S. Attorneys serving districts with large Native American communities.

Attendees will also visit Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and talk with tribal leaders from South Dakota's reservations.

For more information call Jackley at 357-2330.
