A repeat drunken driver has been sentenced to the maximum of 10 years in prison.
Minnehaha County prosecutors say Michael Messick also had his driver's license revoked for life.
Authorities say Messick was driving the wrong way on a one-way street with a blood alcohol level of more than two times the legal limit.
It was his 11th conviction and the seventh drunken driving conviction in the past 10 years. He was out on parole for one of those offenses when he was picked up the last time.
