An 85-year-old man was struck and killed Saturday evening at the intersection of Fifth and Oakland streets in Rapid City, near the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, police said Saturday night.

A vehicle driven by Jesse Johnson, 21, struck the man, who has been identified but whose name was being withheld by police until his family is notified.

There was no indication that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. Police responded to the scene at 5:11 p.m.
