An Outlaws Motorcycle Club member shot in 2006 at Custer State Park took the stand briefly Wednesday at the Sioux Falls trial of two Hells Angels bikers accused of trying to kill him.

Chad Wilson of Lynnwood, Wash., and John Midmore of Valparaiso, Ind., are charged with attempted murder for shooting five people with the Outlaws.

The defense says it was self-defense.

One of the Outlaws injured was 61-year-old Danny Neace, who was hit twice in the back and once in the leg and paralyzed from the waist down.

He's charged in a separate federal case in Michigan charging him and other Outlaws with targeting Hells Angels.

The trial adjourned early for the day so attorneys can discuss whether Neace can testify without incriminating himself.
