Police have identified a 36-year-old Rapid City man who is recovering after he accidentally shot himself in the leg while target practicing Sunday.
Pennington County sheriff's deputies said Quinten Cottingham was hit in the thigh while reloading a black-powder revolver.
He then drove himself about 10 miles from near Victoria Lake to a convenience store, where a clerk called 911.
Cottingham was taken to Rapid City Regional Hospital, where he was last reported in fair condition. The wound was not considered life-threatening.
