The Meade County Sheriff's office identified the man who died in a single-car accident in Sturgis late Wednesday night.

Andrew John Frey, 22, of Sturgis died when his vehicle left Moose Drive, struck a tree, overturned and caught fire at approximately 11 p.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from the Meade County Sheriff's Office.

Frey was alone in the vehicle.

The accident remains under investigation. The Meade County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the South Dakota Highway Patrol, Sturgis Police Department, Sturgis Fire and Ambulance, and the Meade County Coroner.

Moose Drive is the old short-track road that runs along the south side of Interstate 90 in Sturgis.
