DEADWOOD - The only grocery store in the Black Hills gambling town of Deadwood has closed its doors. Decker's Food Pride shut down Wednesday.
A local economic development official, Chuck Turbiville, said he's hopeful someone can be found to reopen the grocery.
A variety of small businesses in Deadwood have folded since gambling began there in November of 1989, spawning casinos that are literally wall-to-wall. However, there has been a resurgence of other types of businesses in recent years.
The grocery store that closed not only provided food and drinks but also had a bevy of slot machines near the front door.
