A Pennington County grand jury has indicted Robert Goulding on a charge of first-degree murder in connection with the Nov. 24 death of Allen Kissner.

Goulding, 51, Rapid City, is accused of killing Kissner, 56, whose body was found by a fisherman at Dakota Point Picnic Area at Sheridan Lake. Autopsy results showed he died from a single gunshot wound to the head.

In finding evidence to bring the charge, the grand jury indictment eliminated need for Thursday's scheduled preliminary hearing. Now, Goulding will be arraigned before 7th Circuit Judge John Delaney on Dec. 22.

If convicted, Goulding could face the death penalty or life in prison. He remains in Pennington County Jail.

Goulding's wife, Nancy Ellwein, 58, has pleaded not guilty to being an accessory to murder and is currently free on bond. She would face up to five years in prison if convicted of the charge.
