RAPID CITY -South Dakota Highway Patrol troopers have confiscated 29 pounds of meth and nearly 7 pounds of cocaine after a traffic stop west of Rapid City.

After a trooper stopped the car Friday on a traffic violation on Interstate 90, a police service dog found a false compartment in the rear cargo area.

The Highway Patrol says 25-year-old driver, Jese Hernandez Mendoza of Court Renton, Wash., and 32-year-old passenger, Eddie Martinez of Los Angeles, were arrested.

Authorities estimate the drugs' street value is $664,000.
