Opponents of uranium mining in the Black Hills are holding a concert in Custer on Saturday, May 17 to rally against the proposed Dewey-Burdock uranium mine.

Titled, “It’s About Our Water," the concert will be held at the Old Songbird Cafe at 440 Mount Rushmore Road from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Organized by Dakota Rural Action, the concert will feature Gardner Gray, Mike Linderman, Martin Meyer, The Ramblin' Rangers, Brad and Bonnie Exton and Davidicia Little Spotted Horse.

Proponents of the proposed mine near Edgemont say the mine will not cause any negative environmental affects and will create dozens of jobs and large tax revenues for the region.
