Walmart has opened a temporary hiring center in Rapid City to take applications to fill 300 jobs for its new Supercenter that is scheduled to open this summer on the city’s south side.

The center, at 505 Kansas City St., is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.

Store manager Andy Pfister said the store is hiring part-time and full-time staff members, including supervisory positions.

“We are excited to add this Walmart to Rapid City and bring good jobs with career opportunities to the area,” he said.

    A part time job at minimum wage is better than living on welfare. At least there is a sense of earning your own living instead of living off the taxpayers. If nothing else the employees will get some experience in the real world of earning your own way. .
