A 25-year-old Rapid City man who broke into FTC Express to steal liquor last December was sentenced to five years in prison Monday by 7th Circuit Judge Janine Kern.

Brandon Reavis pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary. He was arrested on Dec. 9, 2011, after breaking the door of FTC Express on Sturgis Road. Reavis took liquor from RC Liquor, which is housed within the store.

Police used a dog and footprints to track down Reavis after the break-in was discovered.

Reavis was also ordered to pay $570.93 in restitution.

Renovatio where did it mention he was not a caucasian? And what was the year Janklo robbed a liquor store? I missed that that one.

Well, in South Dakota you have to be Caucasian and be voted in as U.S. Representative to get the slap on the wrist sentences for committing a felony. Then be praised by countless of politicians and media heads after you kick the bucket.

I don't want to be labeled the liberal here, but sorry, that is excessive. I just think that a long-term probation, with treatment, and daily alcohol tests would serve, along with the restitution and community service.
