Police are looking for a man who reportedly walked into the Corner Pantry store on North Street and stole money from the register early Friday morning while the clerk was working in the cooler.

The clerk said he heard the bell go off that indicated someone was in the store but by the time he got to main part of the store the man was gone, police spokeswoman Tarah Heupel said.

The man was leaving the store at 302 E. North St. just before 4 a.m. when he was spotted by a witness outside the store, police said.

The witness described the man running away from the store wearing a dark hooded coat and white shorts with green stripes. Police said the investigation is continuing.
