WHITE RIVER | A New Mexico man died Thursday in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 83 about eight miles south of White River.

Kenneth L. Osborne, 53, of Albuquerque was driving south in a 2012 Kia Optima when his vehicle collided with a 2011 Ford F-150 driven by Mark Kruger, 49, of Gordon, Neb., according to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.

Kruger was attempting to pass a snow plow when his truck hit the Kia driven by Osborne, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Department of Public Safety.

Kruger received minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating.
