Police nabbed two drunken drivers after checking on two suspicious vehicles, and another driver was arrested on a DUI charge after throwing a beer can out her window over the weekend.
Amanda Gilby, 27, Rapid City, reportedly handed an officer her bank card instead of her driver's license at around 4:20 a.m. Sunday. She was arrested for driving under the influence and driving with a revoked license.
Police said Gilby was parked on the side of the road near 800 St. James St. with her car running and the headlights on.
While checking on another parked car that was running with its lights on, an officer found Louis Means, 32, Rapid City, asleep at about 3 a.m. Saturday in a parking lot near 1620 N. Seventh St.
Means was arrested for driving under the influence, driving with a revoked license, having an open container and driving without insurance.
Police arrested a Rapid City woman after she reportedly pulled into a driveway, threw a beer can out of the window and proceeded to run up a nearby hill.
Before tossing out the beer can and running up a hill, Michelle Mesteth, 31, pulled into a driveway near East Boulevard and Quincy Street, where a man flagged down the police.
Police said Mesteth was seen 20 minutes later driving over a curb in her vehicle. She was arrested around 10 p.m. Sunday for driving under the influence, driving without a license and having an open container.
