PIERRE | South Dakota Highway Patrol troopers made four drunken-driving arrest and two drug arrests during a joint enforcement operation with the Nebraska State Patrol on U.S. Highway 81 on both sides of the state border.
South Dakota troopers also issued 14 citations for speeding and 12 citations for seatbelt violations.
The Oct. 25 operation was a day-long event for both states' patrols. It was aimed at encouraging safe driving by focusing on criminal activity, speeding, seatbelt use and drinking and driving.
The Nebraska State Patrol worked the highway on its side of the border.
