Average gasoline prices in South Dakota rose 9.5 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.52 a gallon on Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 628 gas outlets in South Dakota.

The national average increased 6.2 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.57 a gallon, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Sunday prices in the state yesterday were 12.8 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 0.8 cents per gallon higher than a month ago.

The national average has increased 5 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 15.4 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.

People should be more concerned that all the fuel is "corn-fuel" and the majority of cars are not designed to burn this type of fuel efficiently. Thus you get lower fuel mileage and a gummed- up engine. Why do we not have a choice to buy regular unleaded any longer?
