State residents get the first shot at pheasants

PIERRE - A three-day pheasant hunting season set aside for South Dakotans only opens at noon Saturday.

It allows hunting only on public lands and road ditches that adjoin public lands.

Shooting hours are from noon Central Daylight Time until sunset. The daily limit is three roosters
