VERMILLION - A proposed oil refinery in Union County has won the support of the Vermillion Chamber of Commerce.

Former Mayor Roger Kozac, a chamber board member, said the refinery, estimated to employ about 1,800 people, would bring significant economic growth to the area. Hyperion Resources of Dallas has purchase options on 5,000 acres of land in the Elk Point area.
