SIOUX FALLS - A Sioux Falls man is scheduled to stand trial Jan. 2 on charges he used identity theft to steal $10,096.

Michael Terrell Johnson, age 29, pleaded not guilty in federal court to four counts of access device fraud and aggravated identity theft.

Between Dec. 28, 2006, and Jan. 9, 2007, he used American Express and Chase Bank credit cards issued under other names, and in February used the Social Security numbers of other people, according to the indictment.

The maximum punishment if he's convicted is 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
