PIERRE - The South Dakota Public Health Association has received a $90,000 grant from the American Public Health Association.

Angela Landeen, the association's board president, said the organization will use the 3-year-5-month grant to expand services and membership.

The South Dakota group is one of 31 state and regional health associations to receive such monies.

The association's mission is to promote and protect the health of individuals, families and the community.

Landeen was scheduled to be in Washington, D.C., Saturday to receive the grant.
