PIERRE - Paul Lepisto of Pierre has been appointed the regional conservation coordinator for a new initiative to promote the conservation of Missouri River resources and watershed in South Dakota, Nebraska and Iowa.

The Missouri River Initiative was established by the Izaak Walton League with cooperation from state agencies in the three states.

Lepisto's job will be to raise awareness of Missouri River conservation issues and develop a strategy to protect and preserve the river.
