PIERRE - Three counties have been added to the list of those where teams are inspecting damage to roads, bridges and other public infrastructure from storms and flooding on May 4 and 5.

The teams hope to complete their work this week. The state uses results of the inspections to decide if it will ask for federal assistance.

Lake, Tripp and Yankton counties are new to the inspection list. The 19 counties on the list originally are Aurora, Beadle, Brown, Brule, Bon Homme, Buffalo, Clark, Day, Hanson, Hutchinson, Jackson, Jerauld, Kingsbury, Marshall, McCook, Miner, Roberts, Sanborn and Spink.
