A Texas man has been charged with two counts of second-degree manslaughter for a crash that killed two women near Ludlow in November.

Winchester R. Wearden, 34, of Austin, Texas, was driving a 2004 Toyota Tundra that collided with a 2000 Chevrolet Impala driven by 21-year-old Samantha Vogel of Lincoln, N.D., on U.S. Highway 85, in northern Harding County, Nov. 20, 2011.

Vogel and Judith A. Hampton, 61, of Newcastle, Wyo. were killed in the crash.

Wearden was cited for reckless driving and passing in a no-passing zone.

A trial is scheduled for Aug. 21 and 22, in Buffalo.
