RAPID CITY | Brent Allen Moline died at the age of 61, while kayaking in the Cook Islands on Nov. 22, 2017. He was born August 13, 1956, to Shirley (Farrar) and Stanley Moline of Sioux Falls. He graduated from Sioux Falls Lincoln High School in 1974, where he was part of the Patriot wrestling team. He graduated from Mitchell Area Vo-Tech in 1976 and worked as a power lineman for West River Electric until 1986.
He later became a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker where he developed a lifelong love for investments and real estate. He was an entrepreneur and ran his own business for many years. In recent years, he owned and managed several commercial real estate properties in Rapid City.
In 1981, he married Anita Pesek in Rapid City. He was immeasurably proud of his three daughters: Heidi Moline, Minneapolis, MN; Heather Moline and her husband Aron Merchen, Omaha, NE; and Haley Moline, Rapid City. His mother, Shirley Moline, resides in Sioux Falls, and his brother Rich (wife Darlene) Moline and their family live in Canyon Lake, CA. He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Moline.
A loyal follower of Warren Buffett, Brent could and would quote Mr. Buffett’s investment principles given the chance. He loved his Porsche, music, water sports, bike riding, hiking and traveling with family, and was a voracious reader.
He was a wonderful husband, father, uncle, brother, son, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Public visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
A memorial has been established for the Children’s Museum of the Black Hills.
