RAPID CITY | Our dear Mother and Grandmother, Ida Muree St. Pierre was welcomed into Heaven on Dec. 31, 2017.

Ida Muree Pasek was born August 26, 1918, in Academy, SD. After graduating from SD State University with a degree in home economics, she taught high school in Alcester, SD, where she met Lloyd St. Pierre. They were married in 1943. She followed Lloyd to Tennessee where he was stationed in the Coast Guard and she was a map-maker for the TVA. Lloyd and Ida Muree settled in Rapid City in 1949.

Ida Muree was active in the First Congregational Church, PEO, the Home Economics Association, AAUW and Rapid City Hospital Auxiliary, of which she was president for many years. In the 1980s, Ida Muree was named runner up South Dakota Mother of the Year. She was a wonderful mother and her children and grandchildren were most important in her life. She was known for her wonderful hospitality, her love for people and her service to her church and the many community organizations in which she was involved. She lovingly cared for her dear husband as he endured Parkinson’s Disease in his later years. Ida Muree’s sweet smile and gentle spirit reflected her love for Jesus, her Lord and Savior.

She is survived by children, Jean (Wayne) Beyer and Lynn (Colleen) St. Pierre, all of Kalispell, MT, Roger (Vicki) St. Pierre and Elaine St. Pierre, all of Rapid City; and grandchildren, Andrew and Paul St. Pierre, Alexander Beyer, and Zachary Plowman.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at First Congregational Church, with Rev. Ted Huffman officiating. Interment will be at Mt. View Cemetery.

A memorial is to be established.
