SPEARFISH | Scot A. Halverson, 65, died Dec. 22, 2017
Scot was born in Mount Vernon, SD, and was a long-time resident of Spearfish. Scot loved to farm, he was a gifted horseman and experienced rancher. He worked as a contractor for the Homestake Mining Company for many years. Scot served as a Sergeant in the Marine Corp during the Vietnam War.
He was a beloved partner and friend of Teena Gregory in Piedmont. He is survived by his two children, Carianna Baily-Anderson and Jacob Halverson; as well as two step-children, Sara Hadd and Ronald Hoard.
Scot was cremated and will be buried this summer at the Black Hills National Cemetery and placed at the Halverson family plot at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
