RAPID CITY | Daniel Edward Roesler went to be with the Lord on Jan. 8, 2018, peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Dan was born in Deadwood, SD, to Daniel and Naomi Roesler on May 17, 1947.
Dan graduated from Deadwood High School in May of 1965. After high school, Dan went on to serve his country as a Navy Seabee from 1966 until 1969. Dan attended the National College of Business in Rapid City. On March 6, 1971, Dan married the love of his life, Sue Aker. In 1974, Dan graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Data Processing Management. His career within the computer field allowed him to work with several different companies, with him retiring from Assurant in 2010.
Dan is survived by his children, Tracy (Joseph) Otter of Faulkton, SD, Eric (Meghann) Roesler of Rapid City and Taylor Roesler of Ft. Carson, CO; grandchildren, James, Reese, and Evan Otter, and Austin and Jack Roesler; two brothers, Dave (Dianne) Roesler of Huntsville, AL, and Mike (Jody) Roesler of Rapid City; and one sister, Barbara (Robert) Wordell of Surprise, AZ.
Dan was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sue Roesler; his parents; and mother and father-in-law.

Memorial visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Kirk Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 12 at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Black Hills National Cemetery. An online guestbook may be signed at kirkfuneralhome.com.
