A man who barricaded himself inside a residence this morning has been taken into custody, according to Rapid City police.
"Warrant suspect (is) safely in custody," the police department said in a tweet shortly before 10 a.m. "Working to clear scene and open up E. Main Street."
The incident began early this morning when police made a traffic stop in Rapid City. During the course of their interaction with the person, police learned that a man they had been looking for was inside a residence at East Main Street and Maple Avenue.
A Special Response Team was deployed to the area because of the man's history with weapons, police spokesman Brendyn Medina said.
