The Black Hills State University men's and women's track and field teams recorded four podium positions while the men's 4x400 meter relay team set a school record at the CU Invitational in Boulder over the weekend.
Garrett Snook, Brian Kjerstad, Taylor Hepp and Tristan Hepp finished fourth in the 4x400 relay and set the school record at 3 minutes, 17.12 seconds. Tristan Hepp also finished third in the 400 hurdles in 52.68.
The 4x100 relay team of Kjerstad, Tristan Hepp, Mark Fruechte and Markez Boykin also finished third in 42.52.
Alan McDonnell continued his solid sophomore season with a third place finish in the high jump, clearing 6 feet, 7 inches.
On the woman's side, Alexandra Richards finished third in the javelin in 133-9. Nicole Allerdings barely missed the podium, finishing fourth in the 3,000 meter run in 10:28.23.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in Rapid City, when it heads to the Bauer Invitational Saturday. The meet is hosted by South Dakota School of Mines.
Seven Raiders to sign National Letters of Intent Wednesday
Rapid City Stevens will be sending seven athletes to play in college, and they will sign on the dotted line Wednesday.
Erica Dykstra will be going to Black Hills State University to join the women's cross country/ track and field team, Jake Person will be going to the University of Sioux Falls to compete on the men's track and field team and Isaiah Richards will also be competing on the men's track and field team at the University of Mary.
Connor King will be playing baseball at USF. Raider golfers Matt Albrecht, Lane Jensen and Alex Lesselyoung will also be signing. Albrecht will be going to Mount Marty, Jensen will be going to South Dakota School of Mines and Lesselyoung will also be attending Mines.
The ceremony will be at the Stevens High Gymnasium at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
