The Rapid City Central boys' basketball team remained unbeaten with a nice 67-48 win over Dickinson, N.D., Friday night in Dickinson.

With the win, the Cobblers moved to 7-0 on the season.

Dylan Hay led the Cobblers with 19 points and six rebounds, while Kailleb Walton-Blanden added 10 points and six assists.

Also for Central, Camden Talley finished with nine points, while Cameron Hall and Jaxson Schmaltz had eight points each.

Central is at Aberdeen Central and Pierre next weekend.

MADISON 67, BELLE FOURCHE 44: The Bulldogs remained unbeaten with the win over the Broncs in the Cavalier Christmas Classic.

Madison led 32-22 at halftime and outscored Belle Fourche 21-7 in the third quarter.

Aaron Fiegan led all scoring for the Bulldogs, 6-0, with 24 points, followed by Jaxon Janke with 15.

Michael Leverington paced the Broncs with 15 points and Tate Hostetter added 10.

Belle Fourche, 2-5, is at hosts Red Cloud on Jan. 6.

ABERDEEN RONCALLI 41, ST. THOMAS MORE 31: The visiting Cavaliers held off the home team in the fourth quarter for the win Friday night at the Cavalier Christmas Classic.

St. Thomas More led by as much as four points in the second, but Roncalli scored 11 straight to close the quarter and a 20-13 halftime lead.

Roncalli led by double digits in the second half, but STM battled back to cut the gap to five, before coming up short.

Ryder Kirsch led STM with 11 points, while Caden Casey added eight.

Brady Morgan led Roncalli, 5-0, with 15 points and Gus Reede added 11.

STM, 1-5, hosts Douglas Thursday.

CANTON 66, HILL CITY 64: Kayden Verley hit a layup with two seconds left to lift the C-Hawks past the Rangers.

Witt the score tied at 38-all, Canton outscored Hill City 28-26 in the fourth quarter. The Rangers were up by three with 13 seconds left, but Canton scored the game's final five points.

Verley, with 16 points in the fourth, led all scorers with 24. Eric Schroedermeier finished with 13 for Canton, 3-3, and Matthew Toso added 12.

Noah Krull led Hill City with 17, followed by Chance Simmons with 16 and Jacob Harris with 13.

Hill City, 4-2, hosts Custer on Thursday.

BON HOMME 70, HOT SPRINGS 52: The Cavaliers outscored the Bison 25-7 in the third quarter for the win at the Swiftel Classic in Brookings.

Hot Springs led 31-25 at halftime.

Logan Barndt led the Bison with 16 points and Matt Norton added 11.

Bryce Scieszinski led Bon Homme, 3-0, with 23 points and Colin Adams 17.

Hot Springs, 1-3, hosts Douglas Tuesday.

Girls Basketball

RAPID CITY CENTRAL 77, DICKINSON, N.D. 48:  The Cobblers won their third straight game with the lop-sided victory over Dickinson.

No other results were made available.

Central, 3-4, hosts Aberdeen Central and Pierre next weekend.

IPSWICH 51, JONES COUNTY 40: The Lady Tigers ran out to a 24-point lead before stopping the Coyotes Friday at the Huron Holiday Classic.

Kamryn Heinz led Ipswich with 17 points and eight rebounds, followed by Aleah Steger with 12 points and Hallie Heinz with 11.

Savannah Krogman paced Jones County with 13 points and six rebounds.

Jones County, 1-4, will be at Rapid City Christian on Thursday.

PARKSTON 53, RAPID CITY CHRISTIAN 50: The Trojans held on in the fourth quarter to stop the Comets in the Parkston Classic.

The game was tied at 21-21 at halftime, but Parkston led 40-31 heading into the fourth.

Zane Schlabach led the way for Christian with 20 points, followed by Levi Vanden Bos with 14. Jack Roisum grabbed 12 rebounds for the Comets.

Brady Albrecht led Parkston with 20 points.

Rapid City Christian, 2-1, will face Faulkton Area today at the Huron Holiday Classic.

FAITH 74, SANBORN CENTRAL/WOONSOCKET 48: The Lady Longhorns used big first and third quarters to get the win at the Huron Holiday Classic.

Kailyn Groves led the way with 19 points and nine rebounds, followed by Jayden Shoemaker with 17, Sydnie Schauer with 11 and Mikenzy Miller with 10.

Tesa Jensen led Sanborn Central/Woonsocket with 15 points.

Faith, 5-0, will be at Lemmon on Tuesday.

Boys Hockey

Rushmore Thunder boys win two of three in Dickinson

The Rushmore Thunder boys' varsity hockey team went 2-1 at the Border Battle Tournament in Dickinson, N.D. Thursday and Friday.

 In the first game, Thunder defeated Dickinson 5-2. Thunder were lead by Brian Petereit with two goals and one goal each from Austin Stiles, Zach Bender and Grant Wolthuis. Thunder assists came from Ryan Nolan, Derek Brown and Jacob Lindblom. Goaltender John Young saved 17 shots on goal. In the second game of the tournament, Thunder defeated Williston 8-2. Thunder had goals from Mason Harlan, Parker Sundby, Bender, Lindblom (2), Brown (2) and Petereit. Contributing assists for the Thunder were Tanner Good, Bender, Petereit, Stiles, Nolan, and Lindblom. Thunder goaltenders John Young and Abe Partridge combined for 18 saves.

In the final game of the tournament, the Thunder were knocked off by Mandan 6-2. Finding the back of the net for the Thunder were Bender and Brown, with assists from Nolan, Petereit and Stiles. Thunder goaltender Abe Partridge saved 15 shots on goal.

The Thunder return home to the Rushmore Thunderdome for a pair of state league games against the league leading Brookings Rangers tonight at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m.


Cobblers go 1-2 at The Clash

The Rapid City Central wrestling team finished the first day of The Clash in Rochester, Minn., with a 1-2 record.

Central opened with a 57-21 loss to Smiley, Minn., the 30th ranked team in the country. The Cobblers then bounced back to beat Marion, Ill., 40-32, but were edged 39-38 by Post Falls, Idaho.

Central will compete in the 6th place pool today.
